MY EMBARASSING MOMENTS WHEN I JOINED FACEBOOK:- A MUST READ

1. I used to think that W.T.F meant:- welcome to facebook. So, when my dad joined facebook, i wrote w.t.f on his wall!

2. I thot that L.O.L meant lots of love. So, my friends girl had an accident and then I texted him later on:- HOPEFULLY YOUR GIRL WILL GET WELL SOON L.O.L!

3. I used to think that the block button was meant to prevent my friends from deleting me. Gues what?.... I blocked all my favourite f.b friends!

4. I used to think that sending a text via f.b was being charged at one cent per text.

5. I thot that N.K.T meant:- Never Knew That. one day my gal posted on my wall:-I LOVE YOU SO MUCH and then i replied with:- n.k.t. She got very mad and I was just puzzled, asking my self what did i do to her.

6. Whenever i uploaded a photo, my friends used to ask for a tag while i was busy sitting there, wondering what the hell TAG was.

HOW FACEBOOK FRIENDS KILLED CYNTHIA OKOSOGU- THE FULL CONFESSION, A MUST READ AND SHARE

Covering their faces: The twi suspected killers of Cynthia, a retired General's daughter, paraded today in Lagos. Photo: Oluwasanmi Joseph.

Two murder suspects who were paraded today by the Lagos State Police Command, Ikeja, Echezona Nwabufor, 33, and Ezekiel Nnechuwu Olisa Eloka,23, have narrated how they drugged the daughter of a retired General, Miss Cynthia Akuzogwu Udoka, 25, and strangled her in order to steal her money.

One of the suspects, Eloka, said they killed Cynthia because they thought she had a lot of money in her possession. But after the dastardly act, they did not find a reasonable amount of money on her.

According to the suspects, "we met her on the facebook on our Blackberry. Weinvited her to come to Lagos to buy goods at cheap prices.

"When she got to Lagos, we took her to a hotel in Festac. We thought she had a lot of money, but she said she didn't have any money. We gave her Reflon tablet in her Ribena drink. After this, we slept with her for 12 hours in that hotel. We discovered that the tablet did not work quickly on her.

"We then attacked her, tied her up and used cellotape to cover her mouth. After that, we beat her to tell us where she kept the money.

"When we didn't get any money from her, we tied her mouth and strangled herand then we abandoned her in the hotel and fled."

The suspects and the General's daughter became friends on Facebook and were exchanging messages and phone calls.

She told them she was coming to Lagos. They met her at Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja from where they ushered her into a hotel in Festac town, Lagos.

Briefing journalists on how policemen were able to arrest the suspects, Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Umar Abubakar Manko, said detectives made use of the close circuit television, CCTV, at the hotel where the crime was committed to identify them.

The Area Commander, Area 'E' Police Command, ACP Okoro added that the suspects who are undergraduates of Nigerian universities were nabbed through the call logs of the telephone conversations they had with the late Cynthia who was a post graduate student of Nasarawa State University.

After the suspected killers strangled Cynthia and abandoned her in the hotel, the hotel management deposited her corpse at the mortuary of Isolo General Hospital in Lagos.

ACP Okoro stated that many ATM cards, about 23 SIM cards, different identity cards were recovered from the suspects.
Police sources said the two suspects will soon be arraigned in court to answera charge of murder.

Meanwhile, the late Cynthia's best friend, Aishatu Ene Ella, has paid a glowing tribute to the deceased.

She said: "In the last few days, I have seen my heart torn, stripped and brokeninto pieces, first by the disappearance and death of my dearest friend and secondly by the wickedness exhibited by Nigerians passing judgement on someone they never knew or met."

I WAS STANDING AT THE WINDOW, AND I SAW IT ALL- A MUST READ

There was a little boy who visited his grandparents on their farm.
He was given a slingshot to play with, out in the woods. He practiced in the woods, but he could never hit the target.

Getting a little discouraged, he headed back ..to dinner.
As he was walking back, he saw Grandma's pet duck. Just out of
impulse, he let fly, hit the duck square in the head, and killed it.

He was shocked and grieved. In a panic, he hid the dead duck in the wood pile, only to see his sister watching. Onome had seen it all, but she said nothing.

After lunch that day grandma said, "Onome, let's wash the dishes."
But Onome said, "Grandma, John told me he wanted to help in the kitchen today, didn't you John?. And then she whispered to
him,
"Remember, the duck?" So John did the dishes.

Later Grandpa asked if the children wanted to go fishing, and Grandma said,
"I'm sorry but I need Onome to help make supper."

But Onome smiled and said, "Well, that's all right because
John told me he wanted to help." And she whispered again,
"Remember, the duck?" So Onome went fishing and John stayed.

After several days of John doing both his chores and
Onome's, he finally couldn't stand it any longer. He came to Grandma and confessed that he killed the duck.

She knelt down, gave him a hug, and said,
"Sweetheart, I know. You see, I was standing at the window and I saw the whole thing. But because I love you, I forgave you.

But I was just wondering how long would you let Onome make a slave of you."

I don't know what's in your past.
I don't know the one sin the enemy keeps throwing up in your face.
But whatever it is, I want you to know something.
Jesus Christ was standing at the window and He saw the
whole thing. But because He loves you, He is ready to forgive you.

Perhaps He's wondering how long you'll let the enemy make a
slave out of you. The great thing about God is that He Forgives & as well Forgets

HOW TO LOSE A GOOD WOMAN- A MUST READ FOR MEN!!

Men, we do this to ourselves. Ice does melt in the presence of
heat

A good lady does slip away from a careless man
The blame is on you when the good lady walks out the door
Call it our ego, our uncouthness
Call it ill-placed wisdom or lack thereof
But a good lady should be loved Or else you stand to loose

Man, you will loose a good lady:
• When you stop listening anymore
• When she begins to notice You don't value her time like
before

You will lose a good lady
• When you treat her like a child
• Shouting down at her, ordering her around
• When you proving a point means she physically hurts

You will lose a good lady
• When you abuse her trust me
• When she looses faith in you And your words no longer
credible

You will lose a good lady
• If you treat her with double standards, Expect her to be open with you and tell you all But you punctuate your life with
secret codes and no-go zones

You will lose a good lady
• When your insecurity leads to baseless suspicions
• Keeping a surveillance on her like a criminal
• Inspecting and interrogating her becomes your obsessed mission

You will lose a good lady
• When she feels you can be left out, done away with
• When she will rather confide in another or keep quiet Cause talking to you stopped being enjoyable but causes
headaches

You will lose a good lady
• When you stop making her happy
• When you make her laugh no more because you are so cold

You'll look into her eyes one day and realize she left a long time
ago
Don't crucify her. The problem is you

Man, if you look back well You will notice how many times
she tried To steer the love back on course but she is good lady deserving of the best

Choosing a man is like choosing a climate, She will keep off you when you begin to drain and demean her and plant herself in an climate that brings out and treasures her best..

BORN WITHOUT EARS, A MOTHERS LOVE- MUST READ IF YOU LOVE YOUR MUM!

Can I see my baby?" the happy new mother asked.

When the bundle was nestled in her arms and she moved the fold of cloth to look upon his tiny face, she gasped. The doctor
turned quickly and looked out the tall hospital window. The baby had been born without ears.

Time proved that the baby's hearing was perfect. It was only his appearance that was marred.

When he rushed home from school one day and flung himself into his mother's arms, she sighed, knowing that his life was to be a succession of heartbreaks. He blurted out the tragedy. "A boy, a big boy … called me a freak."

He grew up, handsome for his misfortune. A favorite with his fellow students, he might have been class president, but for that.

He developed a gift, a talent for literature and music. "But you might mingle with other young people," his mother reproved him, but felt a kindness in her heart. The boy's father had a session with the family physician. Could nothing be done? "I believe I could graft on a pair of outer ears, if they could be
procured," the doctor decided.

Whereupon the search began for a person who would make such a sacrifice for a young man. Two years went by. Then, "You are going to the hospital, Son.

Mother and I have someone who will donate the ears you need. But it's a secret," said the father.

The operation was a brilliant success, and a new person emerged. His talents blossomed into genius, and school and
college became a series of triumphs.

Later he married and entered the diplomatic service. "But I must know!" He urged his father,
"Who gave so much for me? I could never do enough for him."
"I do not believe you could," said the father, "but the agreement was that you are not to know … not yet."

The years kept their profound secret, but the day did come … one of the darkest days that a son must endure. He stood with his father over his mother's casket. Slowly, tenderly, the father stretched forth a hand and raised the thick, reddish-brown hair to reveal that the mother had no outer ears.

"Mother said she was glad she never let her hair be cut," he whispered gently, "and nobody ever thought Mother less beautiful, did they?"

Real beauty lies not in the physical appearance, but in the heart. Real treasure lies not in what that can be seen, but what that cannot be seen. Real love lies not in what is done and known, but in what that is done but not known.

BREAKING: CYNTHIA DIED, KILLED BY FACEBOOK FRIENDS- READ AND SHARE!!!

Cynthia was first reported missing a few weeks ago by her family members and soon after the news spread to the internet and social media and became viral just a few days ago. She had been missing since late July.

Today we have learned that Cynthia Udoka Osokogu is officially dead . Her body was found in a morgue in Lagos.
Of course with strange disappearances like this there is bound to be numerousspeculations and all sorts of gist. We've heard stories of aristo gone wrong, ritual killing, bad business deal, but all this is speculation as only Cynthia andher murderers know the real story of what happened.

However the most concrete story we have been able to get is that Cynthia did leave for Lagos from Abuja in late July and was supposed to link up with somefriends. Sources say these are friends she knew via facebook. Now before youjudge remember how we all meet people via facebook, BBM, twitter and the likes (either through mutual friends or groups and message boards).

There are stories that they paid for her flight and hotel in festac but nothing isreally confirmed. The friends picked her up, and robbed her of all her money and belongings and then strangled her.

Using CCTV from the hotel, the killers were identified. According to reports, these two young men are university students who have now confessed that they killed Cynthia and she is their sixth victim – the gang reportedly specializes in luring unsuspecting young women, robbing them of their possessions before killing them.

Though there is speculation that their motive was ritualistic, it appears that it was greed and their main goal was to rob andkill.

The pharmacist who supplied the drugs used on Cynthia and hotel staff has also been arrested. According to Police spokesperson Ngozi Braide, "Six people were arrested on Sunday over the incident and investigations are ongoing".

Now even though the story is very scary, and a lot of questions will never be answered, it's important to note that this 1. Happens a lot and goes unreported, 2. It can really happen to anyone, and we all have to be a bit careful when it comes to meeting people online.

It's a very sad ending to such a young life, but hopefully we can all take some lessons from it.

A warning for you before making up to pay this kind of visit to pals you met online. This country is really going bad, God help us all.

SALTY COFFEE- THE TRUTH I NEVER TOLD: A MUST READ

He met her on a party. She was so outstanding, many guys chasing after her, while he was so normal, nobody paid attention to him.

At the end of the party, he invited her to have coffee with him, she was surprised, but due to being polite, she promised.

They sat in a nice coffee shop, he was too nervous to say anything, she felt uncomfortable, she thought, please, let me go home... suddenly he asked the waiter:"would you please give me some salt? I'd like to put it in my coffee."

Everybody stared at him, so strange! His face turned red, but, still, he put the salt in his coffee and drank it.

She asked him curiously: why you have this hobby? He replied: "when I was a little boy, I was living near the sea,I liked playing in the sea, I could feel the taste of the sea, just like the taste of the salty coffee. Now every time I have thesalty coffee, always think of my childhood, think of my hometown, I miss my hometown so much, I miss my parents who are still living there."

While saying that tears filled his eyes. She was deeplytouched. That's his true feeling, from the bottom of his heart. A man who can tell out his homesickness, he must be a man who loves home, cares about home, has responsibility of home.

Then she also started to speak, spoke about her faraway hometown, her childhood, her family. That was a really nice talk, also a beautiful beginning of their story.

They continued to date. She found that actually he was a man who meets all herdemands; he had tolerance, was kind hearted, warm, careful. He was such a good person but she almost missed him!

Thanks to his salty coffee! Then the story was just like every beautiful love story, the princess married to the prince, then they were living the happy life...And, every time she made coffee for him, she put some salt in the coffee, as she knew that's the way he liked it.

After 40 years, he passed away, left her a letter which said:
"My dearest, please forgive me, forgive my whole life lie. This was the only lie Isaid to you---the salty coffee. Remember the first time we dated? I was so nervous at that time, actually I wanted some sugar, but I said salt. It was hard for me to change so I just went ahead. I never thought that could be the start of our communication!I tried to tell you the truth many times in my life, but I was too afraid to do that, as I have promised not to lie to you for anything.. Now I'm dying, I'm afraid of nothing so I tell you the truth: I don't like the salty coffee, what a strange bad taste.. But I have had the salty coffee for my whole life! Since I knew you, I never feel sorry for anything I do for you. Having you with me is my biggest happiness for my whole life. If I can live for the second time, still want to know you and have you for my whole life, even though I have to drink the salty coffee again".

Her tears made the letter totally wet.

Someday, someone asked her: what's the taste of salty coffee? It's sweet. She replied.

THAT'S WHERE I HID THE GUNS: PRISON HELP- A MUST READ

An old man lived alone in Minnesota. He wanted to spade his potato garden, but it was very hard work. His only son, who would have helped him, was in prison.

The old man wrote a letter to his son and mentioned his situation:

Dear Son,
I am feeling pretty bad because it looks like I won't be able to plant my potato garden this year. I hate to miss doing the garden because your mother always loved planting time. I'm just getting too old to be digging up a garden plot. If you were here, all my troubles would be over. I know you would dig the plot for me, if you weren't in prison.
Love,
Dad

Shortly, the old man received this telegram: 'For Heaven's sake, Dad, don't dig up the garden!! That's where I buried the GUNS!!'

At 4 a.m. the next morning, a dozen FBI agents and local police officers showedup and dug up the entire garden without finding any guns.

Confused, the old man wrote another note to his son telling him what had happened, and asked him what to do next.

His son's reply was: 'Go ahead and plant your potatoes, Dad. It's the best I could do for you, from here.'

Pilgrim through this barren land;
I am weak, but thou art mighty,
Hold me with thy powerful hand;

Bread of heaven,
Feed me till I want no more;
Open now the crystal fountain
Whence the healing stream doth flow;

Let the fire and cloudy pillar
Lead me all my journey through:
Strong deliverer,
Be thou still my strength and shield;

When I tread the verge of Jordan,
Bid my anxious fears subside;
Death of death, and hell's destruction
Land me safe on Canaan's side:

Songs of praises,
I will ever give to thee
AMEN"

May the lord Grant you Strength and Guidance through your
journey and Now may the Lord of peace Himself
continually grant you peace in every circumstance,

A GIFT OF LOVE

"Can I see my baby?" the happy new mother asked.
When the bundle was nestled in her arms and she moved the fold of cloth to look upon his tiny face, she gasped. The doctor turned quickly and looked out the tall hospital window.

"A boy, a big boy… called me a freak."

He grew up, handsome for his misfortune. A favorite with his fellow students, hemight have been class president, but for that. He developed a gift, a talent for literature and music."But you might mingle with other young people," his mother reproved him, but felt a kindness in her heart. The boy's father had a session with the family physician. Could nothing be done? "I believe I could graft on a pair of outer ears, if they could be procured," the doctor decided.

Where upon the search began for a person who would make such a sacrifice for a young man. Two years went by. Then, "You are going to the hospital, Son. Mother and I have someone who will donatethe ears you need. But it's a secret," said the father.

The operation was a brilliant success, and a new person emerged. His talents blossomed into genius, and school and college became a series of triumphs.

Later he married and entered the diplomatic service. "But I must know!" He urged his father, "Who gave so much for me? I could never do enough for him." "I do not believe you could," said the father, "but the agreement was that you are not to know… not yet." The years kept their profound secret, but the day didcome … one of the darkest days that a son must endure.

THE SCENT OF LYING IN GODS CHEST- A MUST READ AND SHARE...

A cold March wind danced around the dead of night in Dallas as the Doctor walked into the small hospital room of Diana Blessing. Still groggy from surgery, her husband David held her hand as they braced themselves for the latest news. That afternoon of March 10,1991, complications had forced Diana, only 24 weeks pregnant, to Danae Lu Blessing.

At 12 inches long and weighing only one pound and nine ounces, they already knew she was perilously premature.Still , the doctor's soft words dropped like bombs. I don't think she's going to make it, he said, as kindly as he could."There's only a 10 percent chance she will live through the night, and even then, if by some slim chance she does make it, her future could be a very cruel one." Numb with disbelief, David and Diana listened as the doctor described the devastating problems Danae would likely face if she survived. She would never walk, she would never talk, she would probably be blind, and she would certainly be prone to other catastrophic conditions from cerebral palsy to complete mental retardation, and on and on.

"No! No!" was all Diana could say. She and David, with their 5-year-old son Dustin, had long dreamed ofthe day they would have a daughter to become a family of four.

Now, within a matter of hours, that dream was slipping away.
Through the dark hours of morning as Danae held onto life by the thinnest thread, Diana slipped in and out of sleep, growing more and more determined that their tiny daughter would live, and live to be a healthy, happy young girl.ButDavid, fully awake and listening to additional dire details of their daughter's chances of ever leaving the hospital alive, much less healthy, knew he must confront his wife with the inevitable.

David walked in and said that we needed to talk about making funeral arrangements. Diana remembers, 'I felt so bad for him because he was doing everything, trying to include me in what was going on, but Ijust wouldn't listen, I couldn't listen. I said, "No, that is not going to happen, no way! I don't care what the doctors say; Danae is not going to die!One day she will be just fine, and she will be coming home with us!"

As if willed to live by Diana's determination, Danae clung to life hour after hour, with the help of every medical machine and marvel her miniature body could endure. But as those first days passed, a new agony set in for David and Diana. Because Danae's under-developed nervous system was essentially raw, the lightest kiss or caress only intensified her discomfort, so they couldn't even cradle their tiny baby girl against their chests to offer the strength of their love. All they could do, as Danae struggled alone beneath the ultraviolet light inthe tangle of tubes and wires, was to pray that God would stay close to their precious little girl. There was never a moment when Danae suddenly grew stronger.

But as the weeks went by, she did slowly gain an ounce of weight here and an ounce of strength there. At last, when Danae turned two months old, her parentswere able to hold her in their arms for the very first time. And two months later-though doctors continued to gently but grimly warn that her chances of surviving, much less living any kind of normal life, were next to zero. Danae went home from the hospital, just as her mother had predicted.

Today, five years later, Danae is a petite but feisty young girl with glittering gray eyes and an unquenchable zest for life. She shows no signs, what so ever, of any mental or physical impairment. Simply, she is everything a little girl can be and more-but that happy ending is far from the end of her story.

One blistering afternoon in the summer of 1996 near her home in Irving,Texas, Danae was sitting in her mother's lap in the bleachers of a local ballpark whereher brother Dustin's baseball team was practicing. As always, Danae was chattering non-stop with her mother and several other adults sitting nearby when she suddenly fell silent. Hugging her arms across her chest,

Danae asked,"Do you smell that?" Smelling the air and detecting the approach of a thunderstorm, Diana replied,"Yes, it smells like rain." Danae closed her eyes and again asked, "Do you smell that?" Once again, her mother replied, "Yes, I think we're about to get wet, it smells like rain. Still caught in the moment, Danae shook her head, patted her thin shoulders with her small hands and loudly announced, "No, it smells like Him.

It smellslike God when you lay your head on His chest." Tears blurred Diana's eyes as Danae then happily hopped down to play with the other children.

Before the rains came, her daughter's words confirmed what Diana and all the members of the extended Blessing family had known, at least in their hearts, allalong.During those long days and nights of her first two months of her life, when her nerves were too sensitive for them totouch her, God was holding Danae on His chest and it is His loving scent that she remembers so well.

This is a real story.

LETTING GO SOMETIMES, MIGHT BE THE DOOR TO OUR DESIRES.....

Jenny was a bright-eyed, pretty five-year-old girl.

One day when she and her mother were checking out at the grocery store, Jennysaw a plastic pearl necklace priced at $2.50. How she wanted that necklace, and when she asked her mother if she would buy it for her, her mother said, "Well, it is a pretty necklace, but it costs an awful lot of money. I'll tell you what.

I'll buy you the necklace, and when we get home we can make up a list of chores that you can do to pay for the necklace. And don't forget that for your birthday Grandma just might give you a whole dollar bill, too. Okay?"

Jenny agreed, and her mother bought the pearl necklace for her. Jenny worked on her chores very hard every day, and sure enough, her grandma gave her a brand new dollar bill for her birthday.

Soon Jenny had paid off the pearls. How Jenny loved those pearls. She wore them everywhere-to kindergarten, bed and when she went out with her mother to run errands. The only
time she didn't wear them was in the shower.
Her mother had told her that they would turn her neck green!

Now Jenny had a very loving daddy. When Jenny went to bed, he would get up from his favorite chair every night and read Jenny her favorite story.

One night when he finished the story, he said,
"Jenny, do you love me?"
"Oh yes, Daddy, you know I love you," the little girl said.
"Well, then, give me your pearls."
"Oh! Daddy, not my pearls!" Jenny said. "But you can have Rosie, my favorite doll. Remember her? You gave her to me last year for my birthday. And you can have her tea party outfit, too. Okay?"
"Oh no, darling, that's okay." Her father brushed her cheek with a kiss. "Good night, little one."

A week later, her father once again asked Jenny after her story, "Do you love me?"
"Oh yes, Daddy, you know I love you."
"Well, then,give me your pearls."
"Oh, Daddy, not my pearls!
But you can have Ribbons, my toy horse. Do you remember her? She's my favorite. Her hair is so soft, and you can play with it and braid it and everything. You can have Ribbons
if you want her, Daddy," the little girl said to her
father.
"No, that's okay," herfather said and brushed her cheek again with a kiss. "Godbless you, little one. Sweet dreams."

Several dayslater, when Jenny's father came in to read her a story, Jenny was sitting on her bed and her lip was trembling. "Here, Daddy," she said, and held out her hand. She opened it and her beloved pearl necklace was inside. She let it slip into her father's hand.

With one hand her father held the plastic pearls and with the other he pulled out ofhis pocket a blue velvet box. Inside of the boxwere real, genuine, beautiful pearls. He had them all along. He was waiting for Jenny to give up the cheap stuff so hecould give her the real thing.

So it is with our Heavenly Father. He is waiting for us to give up the cheap things in our lives so that he can give us beautiful treasure. Are you holding onto things whichLord wants you
to let go of?

Are you holding on to harmful or unnecessary partners, relationships, habits and activities which you have comeso attached to that it seems impossible to let go?

Sometimes, it is so hard to see what is in the other handbut do believe this one thing....
The Lord will never take away something without giving you something better in its place. be blessed......

A LETTER IN THE LOST WALLET- A MUST READ

As I walked home one freezing day, I stumbled on a wallet someone had lost in the street. I picked it up and looked inside to find some identification so

I could call the owner. But the wallet contained only three dollars and a crumpled letter that looked as if it had been in there for years.

The envelope was worn and the only thing that was legible on it was the return address. I started to open the letter, hoping to find some clue. Then I saw the dateline--1924. The letter had been written almost sixty years ago.

It was written in a beautiful feminine handwriting on powder blue stationery with a little flower in the left-hand corner. It was a "Dear John" letter that told the recipient, whose name appeared to be Michael, that the writer could not see him any more because her mother forbade it. Even so, she wrote that she would always love him.

It was signed, Hannah.

It was a beautiful letter, but there was no way except for the name Michael, that the owner could be identified. Maybe if I called information, the operator could find a phone listing for the address on the envelope.

"Operator," I began, "this is an unusual request. I'm trying to find the owner of a wallet that I found. Is there anyway you can tell me if there is a phone number for an address that was on an envelope in the wallet?"

She suggested I speak with her supervisor, who hesitated for a moment then said, "Well, there is a phone listing at that address, but I can't give you the number." She said, as a courtesy, she would call that number, explain my story and would ask them if they wanted her to connect me. I waited a few minutes and then she was back on the line. "I have a party who will speak with you."

I asked the woman on the other end of the line if she knew anyone by the name of Hannah. She gasped, "Oh! We bought this house from a family who had a daughter named Hannah. But that was 30 years ago!"

"Would you know where that family could be located now?" I asked.
"I remember that Hannah had to place her mother in a nursing home some years ago," the woman said. "Maybe if you got in touch with them they might be able to track down the daughter."

She gave me the name of the nursing home and I called the number. They told me the old lady had passed away some years ago but they did have a phone number for where they thought the daughter might be living.

I thanked them and phoned. The woman who answered explained that Hannah herself was now living in a nursing home.

This whole thing was stupid, I thought to myself. Why was I making such a big deal over finding the owner of a wallet that had only three dollars and a letter that was almost 60 years old?

Nevertheless, I called the nursing home in which Hannah was supposed to be living and the man who answered the phone told me, "Yes, Hannah is staying with us. "

Even though it was already 10 pm., I asked if I could come by to see her.
"Well," he said hesitatingly, "if you want to take a chance, she might be in the day room watching television."

I thanked him and drove over to the nursing home. The night nurse and a guard greeted me at the door. We went up to the third floor of the large building. In the day room, the nurse introduced me to Hannah.

She was a sweet, silver-haired old timer with a warm smile and a twinkle in her eye.

I told her about finding the wallet and showed her the letter. The second she swathe powder blue envelope with that little flower on the left, she took a deep breath and said, "Young man, this letter was the last contact I ever had with Michael."

She looked away for a moment deep in thought and then said Softly, "I loved him very much. But I was only 16 at the time and my mother felt I was too young. Oh, he was so handsome. He looked like Sean Connery, the actor."

"Yes," she continued. "Michael Goldstein was a wonderful person. If you should find him, tell him I think of him often. And," she hesitated for a moment, almost biting her lip, "tell him I still love him. You know," she said smiling as tears began to well up in her eyes, "I never did marry. I guess no one ever matched up to Michael..."

I thanked Hannah and said goodbye. I took the elevator to the first floor and as I stood by the door, the guard there asked, "Was the old lady able to help you?"
I told him she had given me a lead. "At least I have a last name. But I think I'll let it go for a while. I spent almost the whole day trying to find the owner of this wallet."

I had taken out the wallet, which was a simple brown leather case with red lacing on the side. When the guard saw it, he said, "Hey, wait a minute! That's Mr. Goldstein's wallet. I'd know it anywhere with that bright red lacing. He's always losing that wallet. I must have found it in the halls at least three times."

"Who's Mr. Goldstein?" I asked as my hand began to shake.
"He's one of the old timers on the 8th floor. That's Mike Goldstein's wallet for sure. He must have lost it on one of his walks."

I thanked the guard and quickly ran back to the nurse's office. I told her what the guard had said. We went back to the elevator and got on. I prayed that Mr. Goldstein would be up.

On the eighth floor, the floor nurse said, "I think he's still in the day room. He likes to read at night. He's a darling old man."
We went to the only room that had any lights on and there was a man reading a book. The nurse went over to him and asked if he had lost his wallet. Mr. Goldstein looked up with surprise, put his hand in his back pocket and said,"Oh, it is missing!"

"This kind gentleman found a wallet and we wondered if it could be yours?"
I handed Mr. Goldstein the wallet and the second he saw it, he smiled with relief and said, "Yes, that's it! It must have dropped out of my pocket this afternoon. I want to give you a reward."

"No, thank you," I said. "But I have to tell you something. I read the letter in the hope of finding out who owned the wallet."
The smile on his face suddenly disappeared. "You read that letter?"

"Not only did I read it, I think I know where Hannah is."
He suddenly grew pale. "Hannah? You know where she is? How is she? Is she still as pretty as she was? Please, please tell me," he begged.

"She's fine...just as pretty as when you knew her." I said softly.
The old man smiled with anticipation and asked, "Could you tell me where she is? I want to call her tomorrow." He grabbed my hand and said, "You know something, mister, I was so in love with that girl that when that letter came, my life literally ended.
I never married. I guess I've always loved her. "

"Mr. Goldstein," I said, "Come with me."
We took the elevator down to the third floor. The hallways were darkened and only one or two little night-lights lit our way to the day room where Hannah was sitting alone watching the television. The nurse walked over to her.

"Hannah," she said softly, pointing to Michael, who was waiting with me in the doorway. "Do you know this man?"
She adjusted her glasses, looked for a moment, but didn't say a word.

Michael said softly, almost in a whisper, "Hannah, it's Michael. Do you remember me?"
She gasped, "Michael! I don't believe it! Michael! It's you! My Michael!"

He walked slowly towards her and they embraced. The nurse and I left with tears streaming down our faces.
"See," I said. "See how the Good Lord works! If it's meant to be, it will be."

About three weeks later I got a call at my office from the nursing home.
"Can you break away on Sunday to attend a wedding? Michael and Hannah are going to tie the knot!"

It was a beautiful wedding with all the people at the nursing home dressed up to join in the celebration. Hannah wore a light beige dress and looked beautiful. Michael wore a dark blue suit and stood tall. They made me their best man.

The hospital gave them their own room and if you ever wanted to see a 76-year-old bride and a 79-year-old groom acting like two teenagers, you had to see this couple.

A perfect ending for a love affair that had lasted nearly 60 years.
